A "Flipkart SBI" offer won't work on your regular SBI card
This is the most common mistake in a sale. The offer says "SBI", you hold an SBI card, so the discount looks like yours. Then nothing comes off at checkout. The reason is that it's a different card entirely.
What a co-branded card actually is
A co-branded card is issued by a bank together with a company, and the name carries both — Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card, Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card, Swiggy HDFC Bank Credit Card.
It is a completely separate product from the bank's other cards: its own application, its own rewards, its own terms. Holding "an Axis Bank card" isn't enough — the card's full name has to match what the offer says.
Offer terms name the card, not the bank
When an offer is tied to a particular card, its terms spell out that card's full name, not just the bank's. Everything turns on that one line.
The reverse happens too: an offer can cover most of a bank's cards while excluding a few. Festival sale terms often state that certain co-branded or corporate cards are not included. So reading the conditions matters — seeing the bank's name is not the same as being eligible.
The simple rule: you need exactly the card whose full name is printed in the offer. "SBI" and "Flipkart SBI" are not the same thing.
A real example
On a Motorola phone's page on Flipkart during Big Billion Days, the bank offers listed two entries — one for the Flipkart Axis card and one for the Flipkart SBI card. Both are co-branded cards.
Anyone holding a regular SBI SimplyClick or a regular Axis card gets neither. The discount is large and clearly displayed on the page, but it belongs to a card they don't have.
How to check your own card
- Look at the front of the card. A co-branded card carries a company logo alongside the bank's — Flipkart, Amazon, Swiggy, Myntra, Tata Neu and so on.
- Your bank's app shows the card's full name. Match that against the offer line.
- The checkout screen usually shows the full name too when you pick a card. Worth one last look there.
Common co-branded cards in India
A few of the names you'll run into. Their offers work on these cards only, not on the bank's other cards:
- Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card
- Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card
- Myntra Kotak Credit Card
- Swiggy HDFC Bank Credit Card
- Tata Neu HDFC Bank Credit Card
This list isn't complete and it keeps changing. The real answer is always in the offer's own terms.
Thirty seconds before checkout
- Read the full offer line, not just the bank name.
- Match the card's full name against the card you hold.
- Check the minimum purchase and the maximum discount too.
- On the payment page, check the final amount — did the discount apply?
The fourth step matters most. The discount only lands after you select the card at checkout, and that's the one place you find out for certain.
Met every condition and the discount still didn't appear? There are seven common reasons for that.

YaarCard reads the bank offers printed on Amazon.in and Flipkart product pages and tells you which of your own cards saves the most. It catches the difference between a co-branded card and a regular one on its own. It's free, and it never asks for a card number.
